International relations of Oil Academy develop in the following directions:

Preparation of specialists and scientific personnel for foreign countries
Activity of professors and teachers' staff in foreign institutions, to teach students, masters and post graduates abroad
Taking part in international educational programmes
Relationship between Oil Academy and foreign institutes
Co-operation with foreign countries' representatives in Baku
Co-operation with various international firms
Co-operation with International Associations of Universities.

        The Preparatory faculty takes a great part in preparation specialists for foreign countries which was founded in 1961. There are three departments at this faculty: "Department of Languages", "General educational department", "Humanities department".
        Preparatory faculty of Oil Academy prepares students for the next specialities: "Engineer- technic and engineer - economist", "Medicine physical culture, biology and agriculture, "Economy and geography", "Humanities", "Management, sociology, politology and pedagogy". About 11000 foreign students graduated from this faculty.
        Preparation of specialists for foreign countries in Oil Academy began in 1964. In this year the subdivision (The dean's office) for foreign students was organized. The dean's office organizes and controls educational process of foreign students in all faculties of Oil Academy. The Oil Academy was one of the leading institutes among the high schools of former Soviet Union for preparation of high-qualified specialists for foreign countries. The Azerbaijan Oil Academy prepared more than 3000 bachelors, engineers, masters for 70 countries of the world. Besides it 280 candidates of science and doctors of sciences were prepared too. All the foreign students of the Academy take part in science and social life of the Oil Academy. They draw in conferences and come out with articles about their research works.
        The students take part in sport life of the Academy. They go in for sports. Every year foreign students of Academy rest in health Zone Nabran. From the beginning of 70th. the Oil Academy developed its international relations. The professors and teachers' staff worked in Algeria, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Quinea-Bissau, Cameroon and in other countries of Africa. They took a great part in organization of these countries' educational systems. Due to the organizational and methodological help of ASOA educational centers and institutes have been opened in Algeria and Afghanistan and for many years our teachers worked and continue to work there. At present 30 personnel of the Oil Academy work in Turkey's, Algeria's, Cyprus's and in Iran's high schools. The professors and teachers' staff of Oil Academy came out with articles on the various fields of science in different countries. At present they continue this work. With the participation of Oil Academy's personnel scientific international conferences took place in different countries. Among the professors of Oil Academy there are full members and corresponding members of Academy of Sciences of Advanced countries.
        The Oil Academy takes part in international educational programmes, co-operates with universities abroad. The Oil Academy sends its students to study in high schools of foreign countries.
        Since 1993 over 20 students, masters, post graduates had graduated from the high schools of the USA, France, Turkey, England, Italy, German and Russia. In 1998-2000 10 students and masters of the Oil Academy have been sent to the USA, German, France and Norway to continue their study.
        The Oil Academy began to prepare masters on European Techniques Universities' Society programme Tempus CP N20029-98 "Environment and Oil Industry". In the frame of this programme the Oil Academy cooperate with Nice University, Paris Oil and Engine Institute, Qenua University for preparation high-level masters on the programme TACIS.
        We have auditorium provided with modern technical equipments. The library of the Academy has the necessary books and literature for the students,The personnel computers for masters are connected up to INTERNET. The lectures are delivered in English and French. From 1999 the Oil Academy with the partnership of Georgia University began to prepare masters within the programme "improvement of the teachers' staff and preparation of masters in management of business". It means that for 3 years collaborators of the Oil Academy will be on special courses in Georgia University.
        Within the framework of programme professors from the Georgia University and from other Universities of the USA delivered lectures and this work is going on. A study with15 computers is organized and connected up to INTERNET. The Embassador of the USA took part in opening of this study.
        At present about 50 masters study within this programme. The lessons within this programme are conducted by professors of the US and the Oil Academy in English and Azerbaijan. Cooperation with high schools of foreign countries plays a great role in the international relation of the Oil Academy.         The Azerbaijan State Oil Academy periodically helds meetings together with Embassies of Turkey, Iran, USA, Israel, Germany, France, Romania, Norway.
        With the help of USA and France Embassies personnel computers are connected up to INTERNET.
        The main library of the Oil Academy was enriched by new books and technical literatures.
        International relations of the Oil Academy were encouraged by "Contract of Century".
        The Oil Academy develops its scientific potential, material resources with Ekson, Mobil, Schlumberger, Shevron, BP AMOCO, Turkie Petrollari.
        With the help of Schlumberger Corporation the center with modern calculating technics was organized and given for use to the students, masters and post-graduates. Every year the Corporation "Turkie petrollari" gives grant to the Oil Academy honors students. They are going to improve it in future.
        Being the member of Association of Universities and other organizations the Oil Academy extends its international relations.
        The Oil Academy is a Member of European Universities Association and UNESCO status "INCORVUZ".
